CHARLES MAHONEY
Charles is responsible for overseeing our entire operation at Waste Connections of New York City. With over 25 years of relationships with high-profile customers in NYC, Charles continues to play a large role within our customer base all while steering “the ship.” Charles developed his management and sales skills in the retail and cleaning businesses prior to transitioning over to the waste management industry by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from St John’s University. Previously holding positions as Business Development Manager and District Sales Manager, he has forged solid relationships with owners and real estate managers at some of the most prestigious addresses in NYC. Charlie has taken his passion and understanding of the customer service side of the business to successfully elevate Waste Connections operations and service teams to the highest level. He is driven to make this company the best it can be, guided by our values of Safety, Integrity, Customer Service, Creating a Great Place To Work, and being the Premier Waste Services Company in our marketplace. Today, he is responsible for the oversight of nearly 300 employees operating out of three separate sites.
LEONARD CUCCIA
Leonard is a well-seasoned 30-year industry veteran and a valued member of our local management team. As a CUNY graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Economics, he has utilized his skills and knowledge of the industry to help to rank Waste Connections as #1 in the NYC waste removal industry. As Sales Manager, Leonard continually and successfully guides a talented sales team to be the best they can be. The NYC market is unlike any other and is not a “one size fits all” town. Through his experience, Leonard works alongside his sales team to assist with creative and customized approaches that will yield the highest level of customer satisfaction for Waste Connections’ massive customer base. Prior to his present position of Sales Manager, Leonard spent his early years working in a family-owned hauling business before ascending to a long tenure as our Major Account Manager. In that important role, he developed strong business partnerships with large prestigious portfolios, established new business relationships with high-profile accounts, and broadened his horizons through networking, sales, and business training programs. As Sales Manager, Leonard’s continuous thirst for knowledge and success brings value to the table each day as he sets the bar high at Waste Connections for all to emulate.
KAYVON FATHI
Kayvon is one of Waste Connection's rising stars. With 12 years of experience in the waste and recycling industry, Kayvon managed to squeeze in a Master’s Degree in Management and Labor Relations from Baruch College in 2015 while never skipping a beat on his day job. He presently manages clients across New York City and his amicable, courteous approach allows him to fortify existing relationships and build new ones each day. He is a master at customer service and customer satisfaction. Kayvon specializes in waste and recycling removal from commercial office buildings, retail storefronts, and restaurants and bars.
ANGELO DELL’OLIO
Angelo is our Senior Manager who has worn many hats throughout his career, especially since selling his family-owned, waste management business in 1998 to the entity that has now evolved into Waste Connections of NYC. He has been an integral part of expanding the company’s customer base. Angelo continues to fortify existing partnerships within our customer base and build new ones as our Sales Retention Manager. Additionally, in his role as Credit Manager, Angelo manages his team in a manner that makes all credit terms important, but also makes working with our customers during tough times equally important. Angelo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from St. John’s University and possesses over 33 years of experience in the solid waste and recycling industry. His passion for the industry and for growing our customer base drives him to consistently set forth initiatives to improve our company. He is a proven leader and a loyal partner to our thousands of valued clients, no matter what size or type. Angelo is most proud of the many talented members of the team that he has hired over the years and helping to transform this company from “GOOD to GREAT,” making Waste Connections the premier choice for top-notch waste removal and recycling services in New York City.
LARRY COLANGELO
With over 35 years of experience in the waste industry, starting with owning his own waste hauling business prior to joining Waste Connections, one of the largest waste companies in North America, Larry is very adept at finding waste solutions for both small and large businesses in the NYC marketplace. Utilizing his homegrown abilities, Larry works closely with his clients on a “Go Green” approach. He works with all types of businesses on environmentally sound and cost-effective solutions by way of the “3R’s PROGRAM” which includes, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Helping to provide waste solutions is Larry’s occupation, but offering his knowledge and giving back to the community is his passion.
RICH COLONNA
As a former owner of a solid waste and recycling company, Rich possesses nearly 35 years of experience in the industry. He learned the business from the ground up, which has afforded him a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of the business. His overall knowledge of operations, administration, sales, and customer service provides him with a well-rounded business acumen that translates to an overall understanding of all of his NYC customers’ needs. Rich is a detail-oriented and focused professional who will not let his customers down. Customer service and meeting his customers’ needs was his main goal in his own business and remains that way today.
JACK HUGHES
Jack is an industry veteran with 16 years of experience in the NYC waste and recycling business. His dynamic personality and attention to his customers' needs have allowed Jack to build a large book of business. His loyal customers continue to call upon him and refer him to new clients based on his in-depth knowledge of the industry and his personalized customer service approach to get the job done right each and every time. Jack is an Honor Graduate of St. Francis College in Brooklyn and specializes in serving our client base in Brooklyn as well. Jack lives by the credo that “Waste Connections is large enough to service you, yet small enough to know you.”
JASON FITZGERALD
With over 15 years of experience in the NYC waste and recycling industry, Jason is always looking to do the right thing for his customer base. He utilizes his background and experience in every department of this business to work with his clients on solutions to reduce cost, improve service, increase recycling yields, or satisfy whatever particular need his clients may require. He is a proven relationship builder and works tirelessly to provide the highest level of customer service to new and existing customers. Jason specializes in serving our client base in the borough of Queens.
ANTHONY VITALE
Anthony is a welcomed addition to our dedicated Waste Connections team. He comes from three generations of experience in the NYC waste management industry, so trash and recycling are in his DNA. Prior to entering into a sales role, Anthony learned the operational side of the business, which has given him the foundation to meet all of his customers' needs. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Johnson and Wales University, which has played a big role in his ability to network, create lasting relationships, and build on customer satisfaction. We look forward to Anthony utilizing his pedigree in the industry, his education, and his skill set for technology in our ever-changing business to help continue his professional growth and success.
